After the Rain

The landscape is saturated with the smell of warm, wet grass. It was raining an hour ago. I’m going for a quick run.

One of the best natural smells for me is the one that fills the air just after the rain. There is something subtle and barely perceptible about it: freshness - yes, cleanness - yes, and something more that never fails to make me anticipated for another start. Anew. I hope you enjoyed your quick run in the fresh air, didn't you? :)

The other day I discovered how wonderful a bike ride can be just after it's rained (and after not having been on a bike for twenty years). It really was amazing.

Thanks, Anya, I did enjoy my run. And yes, I enjoy after-rain smell and colours of wet leaves and flowers.
Christopher - 20 years! The last time I rode a bike was about 12 years ago. I imagine riding a bike after it's rained a magical experience.

walking outside after it has rained and poured makes me feel great during allergy season, because it feels like the rain filtered out all the yucky stuff in the air. :)
